What is Greywater?
What is Greywater?
Greywater is the relatively clean wastewater generated during our day to day activities and water use. Greywater can come from baths, sinks, washing machines, and other household appliances.
A greywater system is a great way to increase a your home’s water efficiency, and there are lots of options! Generally, we aim to create a simple system that directly uses your household greywater to provide water for your garden and plants. At Greywater Landscape Design we help households use water twice.
Examples of Greywater
Greywater is household wastewater that includes the following:
Shower Water
Bath Water
Lavatory (basin) water
Laundry Water
Did you know?
The average person uses over 25 gallons of water per day which amounts to over 750 gallons per month, or 9.125 gallons per year. With a greywater system, water from a washing machine, bath or a shower is recycled rather than flowing directly into a sewer or a septic system. By using your water twice, you are significantly reducing your water use, water waste and water bill!
